Cinematic Good Times

Went for a drive with my daughter Madeleine on Saturday. We cruised around Glace Bay which is a town here in Cape Breton. I had my Lumix S5 with me and she had her iPhone 14 Pro.

We parked down by a brook, got out and started capturing video and taking photos. I was testing out a new variable ND filter. I love how I can maintain the 180 degree shutter angle and still use a large aperture in bright daylight. I took some photos of her, and some of the poses were her idea. I'm happy she got me to take one of her throwing leaves. I think it makes a pretty cool image. We made good use of the shade to avoid some harsh lighting.

Here are some images and an edited video. I used the Lumix Natural profile and did some basic adjustments when editing the RAW images, in part because Madeleine told me not to do much editing or colouring. After editing the video I added a fine 35mm film grain overlay to give the video a filmic texture. We went out sightseeing some Halloween decorations later in the day and there are some clips of that at the end of the video.
